Los Niños del Sol is a association for families having adopted from Los Chiquitines children's home, located in Cali, Colombia. Association was founded August 17th 2002 and registered officially in 2010.
Our mission is to:
- Offer possibility for children and they families to meet each other
- Share experiences and give advice to families considering adoption
- Raise funds to support Los Chiquitines children's home
Los Chiquitines
Every year about 150 children live in the Los Chiquitines children's home for various of reasons. Some of them are orphans, some because of the poverty or difficult circumstances in the family. If needed, LC tries to find adoptive parents for the children, both from Colombia and foreign countries.
Los Chiquitines offers medical care, psychologist services and base education for the children. Colombian government has approved the school in children's home.
Beside studying, children participate in some of the work done within LC and they have possibility for various hobbies.
Los Chiquitines also helps pregnant mothers that are in difficult life situation with they special mother's program. They receive a place to live in and get medical and psychological care as needed.
